About the "Gut Lock" framework
Gut Lock is a colloquial term, not a medical diagnosis. It is a descriptive framework we use to refer to a cluster of symptoms — including digestive discomfort, fatigue, brain fog, and anxiety around eating — that we believe shares common underlying mechanisms. "Gut Lock" does not appear in the ICD-10, DSM-5, or any clinical diagnostic manual.
The biological mechanisms we describe — including intestinal permeability, HPA axis disruption, gut-brain axis signaling, and microbiome dysbiosis — are supported by peer-reviewed research.
